NEW MEMBER DO NOT HAVE TO BOOK A CLASS ON THEIR FIRST DAY AT THE CLUB, REGISTRATION IS AT THE OFFICE

  • We are pleased to announce that MODC is now in a position to recommence training including accepting new members.

The Committee has met to plan MODC’s COVID safe environment ensuring that we follow the regulations set down by the government, local council and Dogs Victoria. The following plan has been designed to enable us to cater for both our current members and the large number of new members that we are expecting.

MEMBERS (Current and members renewing) PLEASE NOTE:

For the immediate time, training will be on Sunday mornings for dogs over 6months of age and Wednesday night for puppies under 6 months. To adhere to the COVID safe regulations ,bookings for classes will  be essential go to the Events page on this site to book. A QR code will be emailed to you and must be presented  for scanning on arrival. This will help us to keep the required sign in contactless. Please be patient and understanding as we trial this system as several people are putting in a large amount of work to get this up and running to ensure that training can recommence safely. Moorabbin Obedience Dog Club was established in 1972. We offer a wide variety of activities including Obedience, Agility, Rally and pre-puppy. The training methods used at MODC focus primarily on positive reinforcement through food, toys and praise as well as negative punishment which simply means withholding the positive reinforcement. There is a big emphasis on the importance of a well socialised dog and how socialisation doesn't end at pre-puppy but continues for the life of the dog.

We are also a trialling club and as well as hosting our own Obedience, Agility and Rally trials every year, have had many dogs compete successfully at the highest levels of competition over the past 41 years.

TRAINING

Moorabbin Obedience dog club caters for all standards puppy socialisation through to competition Obedience, Rally and Agility.

Training sessions are held on a Sunday morning.
